Public Relations

Public relations gets a bad rap. Too often, it is seen, and practiced, as a question of spinning the truth. No matter how it's practiced, public relations is designed to affect and manipulate public perception. In our opinion, whether at a conscious or unconsious level, the public knows b.s. when it sees it. Our view of public relations is a bit old fashioned: build trust with the media by telling them the truth and making it very easy for them to tell your story. Our clients have good stories to tell.

Canal Group Forms

canalgrouplogocolorIt's no coincidence that several of Meadow Point's customers work closely together. They all are focused on providing top quality products and services, and making sure customers hit the water with their vessel set up exactly the way they want. Because Coastal Marine Engine, Canal Boatyard, Pacific Fiberglass and Emerald Harbor Marine regularly refer each other customers, and because of their long track record of cooperation, it made sense to make those ties a little stronger and save some money in the process. The four companies have formed the Canal Group, and are committed to working together more closely than ever. Meadow Point's role is to do the public relations campaign and joint marketing efforts. These efforts include joint ad buys, web site, trade show support and (hopefully) much more.

Emerald Harbor Flir Release

Emerald Harbor Marine represents a large number of suppliers, and part of the key to maintaining good releationships with them is working together on public relations as well as advertising. This release and photo on the Flir products was a way to introduce a novel product to the Pacific Northwest market.

Ivaylo Minkov Canal Boatyard Release

When Canal Boatyard promoted Ivaylo Minkov to the position of Yard Manager, it was more than the usual guy-gets-new-title situation. Ivaylo's story was intriguing and unique. This press release was widely run and generated some extra attention. Download the release and photo.
